Feel better the natural way!
At Elysium Acupuncture, I am committed to giving the best possible treatment and care for each individuals needs. Using Traditional Chinese Medicine along with Massage therapy, I am able to create a treatment plan that is unique to each patient I see. Patients feel welcomed and well taken care of in the beautiful setting at The Health Nest. The word Elysium means 'a condition of ideal bliss or happiness' which is something I strive to help each person achieve through their personal health journey.
Traditional Chinese Acupuncture can treat a wide variety of health related issues. Our vital energy, also known as 'Qi' flows through our body along distinct meridian pathways. When there is an obstruction or imbalance of Qi, disharmony arises and pain and disease take place. Acupuncture uses points along the meridians where Qi flows closer to the surface to correct the balance and flow of energy. Acupuncture needles are very fine and usually only cause a tiny pinch while being inserted. Acupuncture is commonly used to treat all types of pain including back/hip/shoulder pain, tendonitis, arthritis, nerve pain, headaches, digestive disorders, hormonal imbalances, fatigue, anxiety and depression, insomnia, PMS, menopause, pregnancy and post postpartum. Trying Acupuncture for the first time can make people nervous, but patients are quick to realize how relaxing and effective treatments are. Alternative methods of treatment using non invasive point stimulators are used for children, infants and those who do not respond well to needles.
Cupping is a form of alternative medicine that originated thousands of years ago and is one of the oldest forms of manual therapy. Recently, cupping has gained popularity as many athletes are using this modality to effectively treat muscle/ tendon injury and pain. Small glass cups are heated up with fire and strategically placed on the skin to create suction- much like the opposite of a massage. Cupping therapy is used as a stand alone treatment, or combined with acupuncture. Used for pain, relaxation, inflammatory conditions, chest congestion, improvement of blood flow and deep tissue massage. Cupping is used on many parts of the body.
Therapeutic Massage is often used in conjunction with Acupuncture or cupping treatments. Tui Na is a modality of Traditional Chinese Medicine that helps to treat patterns of disharmony within the body. Translated it means "Push and Grasp". It Helps to promote circulation, relieve muscle tension, and unblock pathways of the body that are 'stuck.' Using manual therapy in conjunction with Acupuncture completes a well rounded treatment.
